Traveller registration in Spain, explained

The obligation, in plain language
Since Royal Decree 933/2021, accommodation providers in Spain — explicitly including short-term and holiday rentals — must collect detailed identity data about the travellers they host, keep a register of it, and transmit it to the Ministry of the Interior through the SES.Hospedajes platform within the required window after check-in.
The data goes well beyond a name in a guestbook: the decree’s Anexo I lists the traveller identity fields to be collected — for every traveller, including children, whose relationship to an accompanying adult must be recorded. The register must be kept for three years, and transmissions are expected within 24 hours.
Doing this by hand means retyping passport details at check-in, keeping spreadsheets, watching deadlines for every reservation, and having answers ready if anyone asks what you filed and when. It is exactly the kind of structured, deadline-driven work software should carry.
